Ballroom Dance show at Eyeball 2009

This is a classical ballroom dance show to the music of "The Godfather", performed by Dr. and Mrs. Ming Wang at the 5th annual EyeBall 2009 on 10/3/09 at Opryland Hotel, Nashville, TN, USA. The event was attended by 600 black-tied and ball-gowned guests, including the former governor of Tennessee. The EyeBall is the annual gala of Wang Foundation for Sight Restoration (www.wangfoundation.com), a 501c(3) non-profit charity which helps indigent patients undergo novel sight restoration surgeries performed gratis by the foundation. The foundation doctors published 5 major textbooks and a paper in the world renowned journal "Nature", hold several US patents for inventions of new biotechnologies to restore sight and performed the world's first femtosecond laser-assisted artificial cornea implantation. To date, the foundation has helped patients from over 40 states in the US and 55 countries worldwide, with all sight restoration surgeries performed free-of-charge. The EyeBall includes a spectacular show that exemplifies the elegance of classical ballroom dancing, and utilizes its breathtaking beauty to remind us how precious God's given gift of sight is, and how much we need to help those who have lost it.

My first blog! Should EyeBall on 10/3/09 be more like a dance party, or a dance show?

Hello, everyone:

This is doctor Wang, this is my first blog!

My question of the day for today is: should EyeBall 2009 (10/3/09, Sat, 5:30pm, Opryland Hotel, www.wangfoundation.com) be more like a dance party, or a dance show? Both options have plus and minus. A dance party will be the best for dancers who come to EyeBall to dance, but a dance show will be more appropriate for non-dancers who will like it more that way (and will end up encouraging more people to come to EyeBall!), e.g., this year we will have a spetacular show by the world mambo champions Felipe and Carolina Telona!

What do you all think my friends? Love to hear from all of you, and get your feedback, majority wins!

Jessica, who had a LASIK treatment on Jan. 30, 2009, just sent me a very good testimonial. I post it here to share with you:

1. Why did you decide to have LASIK? My vision was so bad that I could not carry out normal daily activities without contacts or glasses! I also did not want to cause further damage to my eyes by wearing contact lenses.

2. Why did you choose Dr. Wang? He is the Best!! Plus, it is surgery on my eyes, so I could not imagine entrusting my eyes to just any doctor/surgeon. Vision is the most important sense to me!

3. How has your life changed since your LASIK procedure? It is wonderful!! There are so many nights that I think, "Oh I need to take my contacts out...oh wait, no I don't!!" I am so thankful, it is such a sweet gift - - especially when my youngest wakes up in the middle of the night and needs a bottle!

4. What is your advice for people considering LASIK? The actual procedure can seem intimidating, but it is actually short, painless, and totally worth it! I am so glad I had it done now in my mid-20s and can enjoy it for years to come!!

5. What kinds of activities can you now do that you were unable to do prior to your procedure? I don't have to worry about taking contacts out, I don't have to worry about allergy season or needing to give my eyes a break from contacts, and the beach is an easy experience...contacts are one less thing to think about!!

6. What other comments, thoughts, experiences would you like to add? The Staff is excellent at Wang Vision, and Dr. Wang himself was absolutely wonderful through the surgery, and helped calm some fears I had through the SHORT procedure.
